Blue Mood

This painting is mounted and framed with a dark brown contemporary wood frame.  Framed size is 27.25 x 28.78"

The idea for this particular abstract painting came to me while I was painting a dog commission.  I was using a different color palette than normal for me to paint the water in that painting, and I really liked the colors I was getting.  Decided to see what I could do with it in a cold wax painting.  The color palette is very limited using a warm color (cadmium red light), a cool color (phthalo blue), a dark color (asphaltum), and titanium white.  In addition to a new color palette for me, the painting was created on a surface I don't usually use - Multimedia Art Board.  I chose this surface because I want to frame the piece floating on a white background with a contemporary white frame.

I will definitely be using this palette again!
